 Mapping & Satellite Planning Applications

The following Mapping or Satellite Planning related software can be downloaded here.  All of these programs may be downloaded and the basic features used free of charge.  They contain no ads, or unwanted bundled add-ons.  Some of the programs have extra Pro Features which may be unlocked by purchasing a registration code.  Click on the links below, to get more information about each application and access the downloads.  Please enjoy, and let us know what you think.

GEOPoint - Satellite Antenna Pointing Calculator - A tool for calculating the antenna pointing angles from an earth station location to any visible geostationary satellite.  This program will be of use to both the professional satellite engineer and the satellite TV and DX enthusiast.  The basic calculator function can be downloaded and used free of charge.  To access the extended plotting, reporting and sun interference prediction portions of the program you will need to register.  Version 5.2 (July 2024).

LEOPoint - Satellite Antenna Pointing Calculator - A tool intended for registered users of our GEOPoint app.  LEOPoint calculates the pointing angles to any non-geostationary satellite (e.g. Low Earth Orbit - LEO - satellites).  Azimuth and elevation pointing angles are plotted on a sky chart, and may be saved as an image, or as tabulated values in a file.  Version 1.7 (July 2024).

HorizonProfile - Horizon Profile Estimator - A tool intended for registered users of our GEOPoint and LEOPoint apps.  HorizonProfile can use terrain information from Digital Elevation Model (DEM) databases, as well as other GIS mapping input files containing information about terrain, buildings, and other obstructions, to estimate the horizon profile for a given location.  Version 2.2 (July 2024).

GreatCirc - Great Circle Geodetic Distance Calculator - A tool for calculating the shortest distance between any two points, given the latitude and longitude, and plotting the great circle path on a world map.  The program will also do the reverse, given a starting point and the initial bearing and distance it will calculate the latitude and longitude at the destination.  GreatCirc will also do a coverage area calculation, and a rhumb line constant bearing calculation.  The program uses the standard WGS84 ellipsoid earth model commonly found on GPS receivers, and a batch report function is available to allow multiple distance calculations to be reported in one output document.  The basic calculator function can be downloaded and used free of charge.  To access the batch reporting, image save, file exporting, and magnetic azimuth tools you will need to register. Version 4.1 (July 2024)

MapList-Flat - Flat World Map Program - Originally intended for mapping data produced by other Gunamoi Software applications in MapList (*.maplist) and Map Grid (*.warray) files, this application can also load and display information from standard GPX, GeoJSON, OSM and KML map information files.  Additional functions include the ability to plot satellite pointing angles (azimuth and elevation) on a map for a satellite located at any latitude, longitude or altitude; as well as the ability to draw multiple circles on the map at a fixed distance from designated centre points.  MapList-Flat can also plot satellite orbit ground tracks from TLE orbit data files.  Version 2.1 (July 2024)

MapList-Globe - World Globe Map Program - Originally intended for mapping data produced by other Gunamoi Software applications in MapList (*.maplist) and Map Grid (*.warray) files, this application can also load and display information from standard GPX, GeoJSON, OSM and KML map information files.  Additional functions include the ability to plot satellite pointing angles (azimuth and elevation) on a globe for a satellite located at any latitude, longitude or altitude; as well as the ability to draw multiple coverage circles on the globe at a fixed distance from designated centre points.  MapList-Globe can also plot satellite orbits on the globe from TLE orbit data files.  Version 4.1 (July 2024)

TxPlan - Satellite Transponder Layout Software - **Version 3.9** - A tool intended for the use of professionals, who are involved with the planning of radio and satellite communications systems.  TxPlan is an easy to use program to produce simple carrier frequency layout diagrams.  It can be used to illustrate the layout of transponders on a satellite, or the layout of radio carriers within a frequency band.  Diagrams can be saved as bitmap images for use in reports or presentations.  This program can be downloaded and the basic functions used free of charge.  To access the extended features of the program you will need to register.  Version 3.9 (March 2024)

MapList-Sync - Map Tracing Tool - An easy to use windows program to trace or digitize map information, such as contours, waypoints and placemarks, from almost any map image, and save the data to a GIS file, such as maplist or KML format files, for use in other programs.  This is a sister program to our MapList-Flat, and MapList-Globe, which may be used to display the GIS data files created with MapList-Sync.  Version 2.5 (July 2024)

*FREE*

HGT2CSVConvert - file converter - An easy to use windows program to convert NASA SRTM HGT format map elevation data files to CSV format text files, it can convert a single complete HGT file, or extract and interpolate data from multiple HGT files to save altitude data in CSV format over a user specified set of coordinates.  CSV output files are suitable to load into a spreadsheet, subject to file size limits.  Can also produce Map Grid Data files in proprietary "warray" format suitable for plotting on one of our mapping programs MapList-Flat, or MapList-GlobeVersion 1.4 (March 2024)
